She fought for everyone. Now we fight for her.
She fought for everyone. Now we fight for her.
Every year since 2014, we've fundraised to give Sam (and everyone with MBC) more time. The sentence I never wanted to be writing is that now, for the first time, we are fundraising in her memory.
Sam was 24 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. By the time she was 26, it had returned but this time as Stage IV. It had spread to her lungs, bones, and brain. The next few years allowed us to build beautiful memories with her but they also included countless surgeries, treatments and difficulties. Time was never on her side and on July 4th 2021, at the age of 30, our amazing girl passed away from this horrible disease.
Sam dedicated her life to helping others with this disease. Over the past few years under her leadership and activism we have been able to raise almost $100,000 for cancer research. There is no way we can let this legacy fall.
She fought for everyone. Now we fight for her.
I'll be participating in our annual read-a-thon on October 17th so if you support me with your donation then know that you'll be honouring Sam's incredible legacy and also all those living with stage iv breast cancer - for which there is currently no cure. Your donation goes to helping us spread awareness, find more treatment options, and giving all those with stage iv the greatest gift of all: more time.
