Hi there. My name is Alison and I am living with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. And these are my home girls (Amy, Johanna and Jill) who I have known since grade school, and are joining me this year to raise funds for an incredible, and much needed cause.
Did you know that Breast Cancer only kills if you have Metastatic (aka Stage IV, Advanced, Secondary) Breast Cancer?
Or that for women and men living with MBC, treatment will NEVER be over?
And did you know that it is estimated that only 2-7% of funds raised for breast cancer research actually go to the study of metastatsis?
Seems kinda crazy given how much money is raised for breast cancer, right?
Turning The Page On Cancer and Rethink Breast Cancer have once again partnered to raise more awareness AND funds for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research. And I'm honoured to not only be taking part again, but to join the TTPOC planning committee this year!
On October 17th my girls and I will be taking part in an all-day Read-A-Thon, hosted by TURNING THE PAGE ON CANCER, and in honour of it's founder Samantha, who sadly passed away this summer. And we're asking for your help in reaching (and hopefully exceeding) our goal.
All funds donated will go directly to the MBC FUND at Rethink Breast Cancer, which is an incredible organization that provides support, resources and community to those of us living with breast cancer.
Additionally, I will be donating 100% of all profits from every BigB Deodorant sale to Turning The Page, from now until the end of October. #BigBforMBC
While we of course want your money ;) we also understand that it's a wild and crazy time right now. So if you're not able to donate (and even if you are), then might we ask that you pledge to become an MBC Ally (HERE) – a movement that was created with the goal of doubling the overall survival of MBC by 2025.
