Sam was one of my best friends and my longest friendship - we met when I moved across the street at 5 years old and we were immediately inseparable. While our lives have taken us in different directions, we’ve always stayed close and been there for each other.

It’s still hard to believe that we lost Sam this year after a long fight with metastatic breast cancer (mBC). Sam founded Turning the Page on Cancer to combine her love of reading with the advocacy and fundraising needed to make mBC a chronic illness. She was always fighting for more time.

Even when it was apparent she was no longer fighting for changes that would affect her own case, Sam fought tirelessly for those that will come after her. Now it’s our turn to carry that fight for her.

This years’ Turning the Page on Cancer read-a-thon on Sunday, October 17 is more important than ever as we honour Sam’s legacy. Any small donation would be greatly appreciated to contribute to our fundraising team.
