Do I have to register to host a fundraiser?

We encourage you to register your fundraiser on our online platform. The platform makes it easy to plan, invite people to donate, and track your progress. Register now

How should I fundraise for CFCC?

Do what you love! You can host a games night, a concert or a paint night, just to name a few examples. You can also mark a milestone such as a wedding or host a fundraiser in memory of someone. The choice is completely up to you, just remember to set a goal!

How do I register to host a corporate event?

Where does the money I fundraise go?

Your fundraiser will directly support Community Food Centres Canada and help low-income communities across the country access good food with dignity. You’re also supporting programs that promote food skills, connection and advocacy. Learn more about our work.

What can Community Food Centres do to support my event?

We’re excited and ready to answer your questions, share tools & information to help you fundraise, and provide tax receipts for eligible gifts.

Please note that we are unable to provide support in the following ways:

  • Administration and event planning support.
  • Access to celebrities or media.
  • Assistance with securing sponsorship or gifts including providing our existing donor sponsorship, donor, or volunteer lists for third party use.
  • Insurance coverage for your event.
  • Issue tax receipts other than as outlined by the Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines.
  • Application for gaming and liquor licenses i.e. raffles, bingos or insurance.

Can I host a fundraiser safely during COVID-19?

Absolutely! The great thing about a fundraiser is that it can be whatever you want it to be. Whether you’re hosting a virtual paint night with friends or celebrating a special life event in person, it’s completely up to you. Just be sure to follow your local public health guidelines.

I’m having trouble reaching my fundraising goal. What can I do?

A fundraising goal can help motivate people to give, but no matter the amount you raise your fundraiser will still have an impact on the lives of Canadians experiencing food insecurity.

But, we know how exciting it is to meet a goal. So our experienced team put together a fundraising toolkit to help you take your outreach to the next level.

Something’s come up and I have to cancel my event. Can I remove my event from the website?

We understand life happens. If you are unable to reschedule your fundraiser, please reach out to Simone Robinson, Development Officer, Community Giving at [email protected]. and she will provide assistance in canceling the event.

I’m having trouble with my fundraising page. Who can I contact for support?

How can I make an offline donation or pledge?

Download our offline pledge sheet to make or collect cash or cheque donations. Send your completed pledge sheet via email to Simone Robinson, Development Officer, Community Giving  at [email protected]. or by mail it to:

Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?

All donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt from Community Food Centres Canada. When you make an online donation, you will automatically receive your tax receipt via email after your donation has been completed.

Please note that, by law, charitable tax receipts can only be issued in the name of the payee.

Can I use the CFCC third-party event logo?

Register your event and we will be in touch with logo guidelines and usage. For full information around logo usage and promotions, please review Terms and Conditions.

Is there any fine print?

Nope, but we encourage you to review Terms and Conditions before kicking off your event!
