In just a few months, the inimitable P'nina Shames will be turning 80 years young!
If you're seeing this, you have likely received a request to "Save the Date" for the celebration scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Befitting of her tireless commitment to community, P'nina has asked that ~ in lieu of birthday gifts ~ we all contribute to her cause of choice: The Nelson Community Food Centre.
We thank the Community Food Centres of Canada for their willingness to collect and transfer all donations coming through this channel to the Nelson Community Food Centre, and issue tax receipts.
The mission of the Nelson Community Food Centre is to help fight food insecurity. As you may know, P'nina gives her time and energy to the NCFC board of directors.
When people can’t afford good food, the problems stack up. Poor nutrition, social isolation, and declining physical and mental health all take a huge toll on people's lives. Your donation will support low-income singles and families in Nelson to access good food with dignity and help build programs that promote food skills, connection and advocacy.
When you make a donation, you will recieve a tax reciept from Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC), but your donation will be 100% directed to the Nelson CFC.
