Every year more than 200,000 people are newly diagnosed with leprosy. Leprosy is a disease of poverty. It damages nerves and robs people of feeling in their hands and feet. When injuries go unnoticed and untreated, ulcers develop and can easily lead to amputation and disability. The effects of this disease aren’t only physical. People affected by leprosy are stigmatised. Children have been refused education and adults have lost critical work opportunities. Those affected have even been rejected by family.

From 24th March to 24th April I am running 150km (about 5k a day) for The Leprosy Mission's work in Mozambique. I am hoping to raise £500 and would love if you would help me get there!

The money will provide medical treatment and will also train healthworkers to diagnose people affected and raise awareness of the disease in communities. This will create a more inclusive environment for people affected by leprosy. No one should be rejected because of this disease, which can easily be cured by multi-drug therapy.
