Cure Stage 4 breast cancer and you cure ALL breast cancer

Anyone can slap a pink ribbon on something and sell it in the name of “awareness.” But people don’t need to be “aware” of breast cancer — they already know about it. Instead, breast cancer needs a cure.

People don’t die from early stage breast cancer. In fact, it’s a myth that early detection is key to survival. Early stage breast cancers (Stage 0-3) have approximately a 20-30 per cent chance of becoming metastatic (Stage 4). Breast cancer in the breast isn’t what kills — it’s when the cancer spreads to other organs and parts of the body.

We need a cure for metastatic breast cancer (aka mBC.) We cure mBC and we cure all breast cancer. It’s pretty simple.

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2019, and another rare cancer of the breast again in 2020. As far as I know, my treatments are finished -- but that is not the case for some of my dear Stage 4 friends. The will never finish treatment, they will die from this insidious disease. There NEEDS to be more investment in research into terminal breast cancer.

That's why I am raising money for ReThink's mBC fund. On Oct. 25th I will attempt to spend the day reading for myself and reading to my darling kids.

I know that this year is financially tight for many. I would appreciate a donation, but if you can't make that happen, I totally understand! If you are unable to donate, can I suggest becoming an ally to metastatic breast cancer at a minimum? Please consider signing the pledge below!
