When I was 24, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. At 26, it spread to my lungs, bones and brain.

In 2014, I was happily dating my boyfriend (now husband), and finally found my dream job working at a bookstore. After a  couple of months in, I was surprised when I found a lump in my right breast.

"Jeff, can you feel this?"

At 24, I ignored it - what could it be, cancer? In October 2014, it had grown larger - the size of a walnut. I decided it was time to get it checked out. What I was expecting was at most a small surgery to remove the cyst. Instead, on November 18th, 2014 (my birthday), I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. My hair would fall out by Christmas, as I went through chemotherapy. I had a mastectomy, followed by radiation.

I was "cancer free"!

In 2016, my cancer returned - this time to my lungs and bones, and shortly after, my brain.

Now, at 29 years old, I've lived beyond the average time of someone with mBC (metastatic breast cancer). My life has been hard - I can't ignore that - but wonderful. I'm not trying to spread toxic positivity - I've had two operations on my brain (one was even awake!). Yet every day I have spent in hospital, I get to spend time with friend and family. Experience movies, music and - of course - books.

The thing is, I'm almost out of options. I have been on so many trials that have given me more time, but it's not enough. I want to see this illness become chronic so I can grow old with my husband, meet my sister's children, and stop wondering if this is going to be my last Christmas.

By joining my team or donating to my fundraiser you're promising tbecome an mBC ally.

You're helping work towards giving me  more time.
